# How to read a record — Singapore companies dissolved after a winding up

> What the record is, what the status means, and what is left out.

## How to read these records

### Dissolved is not struck off

A company can leave the register in two ways. It can be wound up by a liquidator and then dissolved: those are
the companies listed here. Or it can be struck off the register without a liquidation: those are not.

### How it ended

**Members' voluntary**: the company was solvent and its shareholders closed it.
**Creditors' voluntary**: it could not pay its debts and was wound up without a court order.
**Compulsory**: a court ordered it.

### What the record does not say

The date of dissolution, the name of the liquidator, and how many people the company employed.

### What is not here

Names of liquidators, directors or any individual. Companies whose last annual return is older than 2015.
Struck-off companies. Sole proprietorships and partnerships.

**Do you still hold this company's records?**

The internal data of a company that employed 50 people or more (Slack or Microsoft Teams archive, documentation, project histories) may still have value after it has stopped operating.

[Check whether this company’s data qualifies →](/pro.md) We are paid by the buyer if a partnership is signed, never by the company. Whether personal data in those archives can be transferred is a legal question for whoever controls them. Not affiliated with ACRA.
